De-stress and burn off some calories exploring Malta’s northern shore by bike then indulge, guilt-free, in some local gastronomic delights while enjoying folklore entertainment in a spectacular setting.
Local Quality Assured DMC Colours of Malta has designed a special programme to get delegates out of the meeting room and immerse them into local culture on their bicycles. Mountain bike instructors accompany guests on an exciting route packed with surprises, starting at the De Piro cliffs in the North of the island.
First stop, coffee and oven-fresh pastizzi, mouthwatering savoury mini puff “pies” filled with ricotta cheese or curried peas. The tour pedals on to the famous Dingli cliffs where guests enjoy an exclusive performance of local folk music and dance. All that cycling is thirsty work but a refreshing drink of Kinnie, Malta’s own soft drink, soon gives the riders some extra energy for the next part of the tour which meanders through unspoilt countryside. Lunch is served in a typical local restaurant with panoramic views of the island of Filfla.
The tour continues in the afternoon as delegates work off their delicious lunch to explore an old quarry and learn how to create their own sculptures in the local limestone. Back on the saddle for the last stop on the tour visiting a plantation of prickly pears and a taste of the liquer “Bajtra” made from this fruit.
